Contract Insurance Requirements Decoder

Written and reviewed by Michael LaBarbera, licensed insurance agent

Contract insurance requirements ask for specific limits, insured status and policy conditions. This deterministic decoder identifies common wording and explains the questions to send back to the owner. It does not amend a policy or assess a legal duty; an agent and attorney should review the actual contract.

Per-claim and aggregate limits

Per-claim limits apply to a single claim; aggregate limits apply to all claims in the policy period. Check both against your policy.

What to send back: Ask the owner to identify the policy and exact endorsement requested, and submit the clause and current declarations to your agent. Insurability depends on the actual policy; the certificate cannot change it.

Not legal advice. Your attorney should review any contractual duty to defend or indemnify.

Frequently asked questions

Does a tool result confirm coverage?

No. The policy wording, endorsements, insured services and specific facts control coverage. A licensed agent reviews each insurance request.

Are results a quote?

No. Tools provide general education and organize information for review. They do not offer coverage or show premiums.

Can I save or submit my information?

Use the quote form to store a request securely. Tool selections are not automatically sent to an agent.

What should I do with an uncertain answer?

Bring the actual contract, declarations and relevant project facts to the agent. Mark uncertain non-critical application answers for clarification.
